Moth Larvae can be carpet’s, rug’s and upholstery’s worst enemy. The larvae from carpet moths cause a lot of damage by eating natural fibres such as wool and silk, and will look for undisturbed, darker areas to lay their eggs, therefore more likely to be found under sofas and other furniture, behind curtains and along skirting boards. There are several types of moth which are shown further down who are responsible for damaging our investments, but all are small, and infestations are difficult to notice at first. They get into our homes generally via our shoes by cross transfer of eggs. Eggs can come from other infested carpets but also very common are birds’ nests where the larvae feed on the feathers etc, so birds’ nests close to a property are another common cause.

The steam eliminates most of the infestation which is then removed from your carpets by the huge vacuum.
